@@candacesmusic I write worship songs, and it can be rough sometimes because I am restricted by how I play, I hear a song in my head how the Lord gives, but cant play it to the fullness, so I am trying to learn more to play better... not very many female guitarest out there !
I love this board. It's really creative. It's really cool how you've doubled down on the mini medals and looks super clean too. The low octave sounds so incredible on the swells! Inspiring.
Dear Candace, GBU Greatly, I want you to know that I don’t get tired to watch this video because I honestly love the tones that you are creating, you are Amazing. Lots of Blessings to you and your Dear Beloved Family as well! 🎉🎉🎉
Lots of cool gear. The first time sounded a lot like the Boston/Def Leppard tone. Also heard some U2 in there as well. I have a Tumnus Deluxe that I run into a Jam Pedals Rattler similar to your Tumnus/Rat combination - really works.
Monster tones & playing!! Great rundown of the board, as well. Super clean setup and I appreciate that it's different from a lot of what you see on insta and a lot of the fb groups. You packed a ton onto a smaller board and it seems insanely versatile!
I love your stuff! Especially how some of the dry tones were "meh" until you turned on the ambience or played them in context. That just shows that you've dialed your tones in the line of duty and not just in a bedroom. Your playing is also crisp and very uplifting! Just also wanted to say that I think the Rat is more prominent than you realize. 10 years ago, it was on every other pedalboard. Then it was the 1981 Inventions version.
Hey if you get the Cioks Crux you can get those 2 isolated power sources free. I use the crux for my QC build but am about to build a board similar to yours. Great stuff and thanks for sharing!
My old board used to be twice the size of your current board. Discreet pedals and the Stomp. I recently condensed everything down to the Stomp, Tonex1, Cloudburst, and Pitchfork. In my Tonex1 I have two Tone Junkie amp captures which are superb IMHO to any amp models in the Stomp. I really like your Dunlap vol pedal with tuner. I didn't know they made that. Gotta get one. Anyway love your tones and switching approach. Very excellent ambient mix.
Definitely will! I have a few in the vault I can go ahead and post. It’s just so weird.. depending on which sound man we have determines how good the mix will sound on recording! 😆 so sometimes it’s a fail 😂
super cool tones! it sounds almost double-tracked with the Tonexs! how did you achieve that or is that the nature of the captures being both in the edge of breakup?
Sounds great! Gotta say im personally not a fan of the amps being pushed that hard, it makes the other gain stages seem harder to dstinguish from one another when there is always mid level drive happening. I feel like CCM closer to gospel does use higher gain stuff in their higher energy songs (MCM, Elevation) while Bethel and Hillsong use much more edge of breakup tones that really only go higher gain during higher energy/impactful moments. Regardless, that has nothing to do woth the quality of tone im hearing! It sounds so good, crisp, and full! Everything is on point! Nice clean setup.
@@spawn302 Thank you so much! And I’m kind of there with you. The amps have been unusually gainy lately. Usually they’re super clean. Must be in a mood or something. Lol! Thank you so much!!
I was listening to this and I pulled into a gas station where they sell products from a Sattler Farms close to Liberty Center Ohio. Don’t know if that’s family or something, but thought I’d mention it just in case 😂 Crazy coincidence.
Love this board and the tones! I Just switched to a tonex one and it’s freeing up some space on my board. Do you personally miss anything as far as features/tone from going with the mini Rat and the sub n up?
@@cgraham9727 Heyyy! Thank you!! & nope! They’re both equally as capable. The sub n up just has to be approached differently than the POG. Also, the mini rat & normal rat are completely the same. :)
@ Cool deal thanks for the response! Can I ask how you approach the Sub n Up? Ive watched some comparisons to the POG and it seems like a totally different feel for sure. May even be a video idea? 🤷♂️
@ absolutely. I wish I had my old POG to compare. The way I approach it now is to put the dry mix at 70/75%, the sub at 30%, and up at 75%. Will definitely add this to the future videos list!!
@@candacesmusic That makes so much sense. Sounded like the Sub had way more bass to it and not as much treble in the “Up” as the POG. Looks like I may have to get one and give it a shot. Thank you!
I think having it in a true bypass buffered looper may help. Not sure! I’m just strategic to turn it off quickly when not using it also. But I don’t get TONS of hiss. Very rid dependent! :)
What is the switching system you are using I couldn't make it out....thanks! Is the point just to make it easier to switch instead of the difficulty of long on the small pedals.
@@zacharykim295 this is an auxiliary switch made by “Pedalnetics” it’s only about $55 I think!! They have a website and are on instagram! It is a GAME CHANGER.
@@FamilyHoops thank you! My board has changed a lot since this video sadly! I don’t use the stomp on the board but I did keep the stomp separate. Honestly, it was compressing my tone a lot and adding a very harsh high end buffer to everything. I went with the Walrus Audio D1 and HX One for modulation.
@@kimsalas6890 For sure! I’ll start recording those more often. Something always seems to be weird with the audio though. Lol. David Le! “thatasianguitarguy” on instagram!
@@candacesmusic Yeah. David Le's are awesome. He's presets are my main go to's. By the way, your gain stage and EOB approach are very similar to mine and your rundown is probably one of the best cuz of the demos + its not too nerdy. Question: Why switch from smaller footprint RAT and BB type? I understand the tumnus thing but is it because it lacks something without the tumnus?
Kinda sounds cool ! Although gotta admit, that is already sounds overdriven from the start that kinda has the tendency to get too dirty sounding even when the song doesn't really need it. Don;t get me wrong though. it sounds cool but it's just too much dirt even with those drive pedals not activated. I usually run clean , crunch then super high gain during our set!
